What Makes Each One Difficult
“Specialty” is a vague word, so here is what it actually means for the things people ask us about most.
Hot tubs and spas. The shell is a two-ton problem in a package that does not fit through a standard gate. It has to travel on its side, on dollies, never dragged — and it has to be drained and disconnected from power before we arrive. A full tub cannot be moved safely at any price.
Saunas. Barrel saunas come apart, which sounds easier than it is: the bands hold the staves under tension, and putting one back together out of order is how a sauna stops being watertight. The shell is awkward rather than heavy, and the carry path matters more than the muscle.
Pool tables. The slate is the whole job. It comes out in sections, each one heavy enough to need two people, and the table has to be re-leveled at the other end or it plays wrong forever. A pool table that was moved in one piece was moved incorrectly.
Gym equipment. Treadmills and racks come apart; cable machines need their tension released before anything moves. The frustrating part is usually the doorway, not the weight.
Safes. Weight is top-loaded, which makes them punish shortcuts. Stairs are doable, including basements, but they change the crew size — and knowing the make and rough weight in advance is most of the job.

Measure the exit, not just the item. People measure the hot tub and forget the gate. Send us a photo of the path — the gate, the deck, the slope, the turn at the bottom of the stairs — and we plan the route instead of discovering it.
Tell us the model. For a safe or a piece of gym equipment, the make and rough weight decide how many people come and what goes on the truck. A guess costs you an hour on the day.
